There was a song from the 50's called "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Carnation." Pair one up with some black pants, a skinny black tie. Some suede buckskin shoes! Skip the leather jacket. Just wear tight jeans, roll them up, wear white socks with loafers, a white tee with a pack of smokes rolled in the sleeve. Just don't skip on the pink carnation, if you go that route! Converse sneakers were popular, too. I still like the idea of the suave white jacket, and I bet no one else thinks of it! Do you dare wear a crew cut? Pencil on some sideburns. Cool shades, too.

It depends on what type of 50's you want to wear. There is traditional, pin up, and trendy. Roll cuff jeans is a very easy one. Make sure the jeans are a very dark wash. You can wear a colorful pair of flats or heels with those. A scarf in a ponytail, and glamour makeup are also cool.

Feminine would be the way to go. Capris are nice for causual wear. As far as dresses wear dresses that nip in at the waist. Do you ever watch I Love Lucy reruns on TV? That is a perfect example of how to dress.
