I think Bobbi is a very nice name and if that is what you want to name your baby girl, then go for it. It doesn't matter what name you ask people, "what do you think of it". You will always get positive and negative answers as to why and why you shouldn't name your baby any name. Why would you consider what name someone else likes? If Bobbi is what you want -- then your baby girl's name should be Bobbi.

I have a coworker that goes by Bobbie, her real name is Barbara. I think its a fine name for a lady. Doesn't sound Country to me but be careful what her middle name is. You could call her Barbara and then Bobbi for short? If you don't like that maybe put Bobbi as her middle name to avoid any comments about out her two names being used together.
I hope she arrives safe and sound!

It's definitely a "country" sounding name. Most people will just assume her middle name "jo" or "sue". Asides from these two middle names, nothing really goes with it.
You have time to do a simple test: Go out on your front porch and yell the name at the top of your lungs, like your calling her for dinner. If your not into the "country" thing and it sounds "country" when you yell it, you might want to rethink. You'll yell it 5000 times before she is 5 years old. If your embarrassed to yell it at the top of your lungs from the porch, you'll be embarrassed to yell it anywhere. Give it some serious thought.

Bobbi sounds cool. I also like the name Alexx for a girl. I like it spelt with two xx's because I think that it looks cool. Plus, the name just sounds so powerful to me. Good luck with your baby!

I think Bobbi is a cute name for a boy and a girl, but if it where me I would put Lyn on the end of it so it would be Bobbilyn.

My mother's name is Barbara, and when she was young, people called her Bobbie Ann, and a few of her cousins still do. It's sort of 1950's to me, but cute, and with the right middle name, could be very pretty (Bobbi Grace, Bobbi Simone for example).

no. give her a real name, not a nickname. my full first name is a nick name for a real name (you can guess it from my yahoo answers name), and it's so annoying. I wish I had a full name as my legal name and could just go by the nickname. but no, I'm stuck with the name of a 5-year-old for the rest of my life. it especially makes me cringe when I have to put it on a resume because I worry the person reading it will think I'm unprofessional because I used my nick name on my resume when really it's my real name.
but as for it being a boys name and her being teased ... who cares, kids find a reason to tease other kids for a million reasons. if they don't tease her about her name, they'll tease her about something else. so give her a boys name if you want to. just give her a real legal name, and call her Bobbi as a nickname.

I have had a couple friends through the yrs (middle school and highschool) with the name Bobbi Jo, then the nickname BJ. I would not name my daughter that, but it's not a bad name.
