Nope, never as a first name anyway. There are way too many Ken's in our family to start naming people after other people and then end up with 10 people named Pat or Bill or whatever. I plan on using my last name as a boy's mn (assuming I have a boy) in order to honor my family.

Personally, no. I don't care for my mom's 1st name. Her middle name would be a possibility as a middle name only, but my sister named her middle daughter after mom.

I don't agree with using the parents or grandparents names as the first names because I think everyone needs their own identity. That's what middle names are for - to honour family or friends or whatever.

No, not for a first name or a middle name. This is just personal preference. I think it's nice when other people honor their mothers by using the names as middle names - as a first name it is too confusing.

My mother's name was Cheril. I love it.
I always wanted to name a daughter Geneva or Genevieve.
Also I like Vivian- or Vivienne-and Cheril as the middle name.
If her name was Bertha or Minnie-like my grandmothers' names -- heck-no!
I like a grown up women's names-Elizabeth, Olivia, Jane, Ava, and my last name and daddy's last name-that way she is unique to her family-Unique in the whole world.
My Aunt's name was Lorraine- and I would honor her with Raine.

I would if My Mom's name wasn't Carol Ann.
She even hates her name. I will however find another way to honor my Mother. Maybe use her Maiden name as a Middle name.

Nah... I'm not much for the name your kid after you thing... Especially if there's not a nickname. Though, I do like the idea of the child's middle name being the parents first name.
