I am almost 36 weeks with third child,almost a week has pasted that the OBGYN has told me that the baby's head is engaged and that i am 60-75%effaced and 1cm dialated. I have read in many books that a woman that has more than one pregnancy the head will not engage until the start of labor. Has anyone been through this?Any advice , or how long before labor started?

my son was engaged more than a month before birth, and I was dialted to 2-3 for 3 weeks. It could be anyday, or you could have weeks to go!!

with my last baby also my third his head was engaged one day and not the next i think it depends on the baby your cervix will be slightly open as you have had other children before and it never realy closes fully after as your60-75% effaced then it sounds like it wont be long maybe another week - 2 weeks

You have to understand one simple thing, every pregnancy is different as is every baby. Enjoy this one too and Congratulations. I know you just want him OUT!!!!
