I certainly agree that dogfighting is a disgusting sport and deserves the harsh punishments that are associated with being convicted of such a crime.
However, if Vick is indeed innocent as he claims, what becomes of the suspension argument around him? What i don't like is the current trend of players being suspended for significant time frames before they have been proven guilty by a jury and been charged. Everyone (NFL players included) is supposed to be innocent before proven guilty in the eyes of the law, and if Commissioner Goodall wants to crack down on misbehaving and encourage players to follow the law, he should do the same before suspending players!!!
by all means clean up the league, just do it when the charges are confirmed... i am wondering if the players are found innocent if they can then sue the NFL for loss of wages?
All in all it seems liek Vick has been caught in the wrong, but i hope that the NFL and people in general wait for the legal system to decide before completely deciding

I am not sure how involved he was. It does seem that he was at very least aware and likely highly involved. I also think dogfighting is terrible. I believe they said all of them could get up to six years in jail. I think that is excessive for this situation. However, he should do somewhere around 6-12 months and should be suspended from the NFL for at least a year. I have no problem with throwing him out of the NFL for a few years. Personally, I think it is time that teams take the reins from clowns like Pacman and Vick and just cut them and blackball them completely. Quit giving them chances. I am a 100% bears fan and although I don't think Tank Johnson's indiscretions come close to either Vick or Pacman and I liked Tank a lot, I agree with the Bears all the way that he deserved to be cut.

This makes me sick.
He should be locked up for sure. This a disgraceful thing he has done. He should never be allowed to play in the NFL again for an act like this.
Being an NFL all-star why would you jeopardize your career for something sick like this? How big of a scum bag do you have to big to torture and kill dogs?!

As an Atlanta Falcon fan, that gets me very upset. If he is guilty then he should pay the consequences. That's very messed up of what I heard that he would do to those innocent animals. Instead of him fighting animals he should of get in a cage and fight UFC fighters to see what would feel like fighting for real.

people are stooping to his level & not beinf rational when they say he should be treated like the dogs. He should not be suspended until found guilty. You wouldn't like it if you were innocent of something & everyone treasted you as if you were guilty. I'm not saying he is innocent but that possibility, no matter how slight, is there. If or when he is found guilty, he should be suspended & be sentenced to the maimum.

It is beyond reprehensible what Mr. Vick has been running, profiting from & entertaining himself with. I cry for the poor animals & the torture they have endured....
