Might be?
A-Rod is batting over .300 and is leading the M.L.B. with HR's and R.B.I.'s.
So its not a ''might'' its a ''yes''

The MVP award will be decided between A-Rod, Magglio Ordonez, and Vladamir Guerrero, but I think A-Rod will win it. A-Rod leads the majors in home runs and RBIs this season and has been a major reason why the Yankees are still in the payoff picture. If the Yankees do make the playoffs and A-Rod continues the year he is having, he will definitely win AL MVP.

Big-Bad-Vlad!!! AL West Champs vs. Stray-Rod and the AL East Chumps.
The answer to this question really depends on your definition of MVP. Go back to when Tejada played for Oakland; the year he won the MVP. He didn't have the best stats that year, A-ROD did, for Texas. But, the A's made the playoffs and the Rangers lost the West.
I personally believe that the MVP should be just that, Most Valuable Player. Which team wouldn't win with out "that" guy. The A's wouldn't have made the playoffs that year, and the Angles definitely wouldn't be tearing up the West w/out Vlad. On the flip side, the Yankees would still not be in 1st place w/or w/out A-Rod.
My 2 cents.

Probably A-Rod. If the Yankees don't make the playoffs it will hurt him a bit, but his numbers are so far ahead of everyone else it probably won't hurt him enough to lose the MVP.
Two guys with a chance if they have a big second half are Vladimir Guerrero and Magglio Ordonez.

A-Rod is having a great year. But what about Maglio Ordonez. I hate the Tigers but, man, he is having a fabulous year. If he keeps it up, he will win it hands down....about the guy who thinks A-Rod will win the triple crown...you can't win a batting title with a .309 average, just won't happen.

It will be tough to beat A-Rod. He will finish with 50 plus homers and 150 rbi. If the Bombers make the playoffs, he is a shoe in. If not, I think that the guy that said Vlad is right, because the Halos will win the west easy.

It has to be A-Rod. He's got 31 homeruns already. The Yankees are having a below average year, but think about where they would be without him. Some other contenders I'd say are Vladimir Guererro and Maggilio Ordonez.

At this point in the season, my vote is on A-Rod. Incredible numbers behind the plate and great defense. Making of a banner year for one who is already at the top of his game

Short of a season-ending injury, there's almost no way that A-Rod doesn't win. He's so far ahead of the competition, and he gets it done in all the major statistical categories. Sure his team may not make the playoffs (though they may), but imagine where they'd be without him.
As a Red Sox fan, I never imagined myself arguing for A-Rod, but there's really no contest.

A-Rod won it in Texas on a non-playoff team and he'll do that again this year.
