Hello everyone, I have a 2000 Pontiac Firebird. I Love this car, it is BEAUTIFUL, a head turner, and it is a good quality car but there are so many little minor problems I do not know if I should fix them or just trade it in.

First off, the previous person did not take good care of it and I am feeling the effects.

Problems include, an annoying squeaking sound from the right rear every time I touch the brakes, the right turn signal doesn't blink, it stays on, but you don't hear the "tick tick tick" like it should, the window is out of line, it won't roll up by itself, the motor still works though.

I am thinking about putting a lowering kit on it, replacing the rear shocks, break rotors, new chrome tail pipes, doing the interior black, and new seats in black.

I would just hate to invest a ton of money and then end up having a major problem down the road.

It is a 2000 Pontiac Firebird with 80000 miles on it and I bought it for 6600.

Advice would be nice.

Sounds like a beautiful car. Some of the problems you mentioned are easily fixed like the brake squeaks.Go to a parts store and but some
squeak stop its really cheap like less than 3 bucks. You don't need to get every thing fixed at once and if I was you I would fix them as you have the money. Also the blinker could be a easy fix again go to the parts store and talk to the sales people there that could also just be a couple dollar fix as well. You should be able to get a shop to fix the window for around 60.00 not to bad when you consider making car payments on a new vehicle not to mention getting rid of you Firebird which would be a shame

The squeak in the rear most likely is caused by glazed break pads. At the most you are looking at a brake job, which should be about $100-$150.

The turn signal problem is most likely a burnt out bulb, turn on the 4 way flashers and compare each side. You will be able to tell which bulb(s) are bad. Cost factor $2-$5

You can have the window regulator fixed at any glass shop for under $100

None of these problems are major.

If it were me, I would not lower the car. It looks good as it is. If you want to redo the interior, check with a good auto upholstery shop!

The car will eventually start to burn oil within 5-10k miles. The car looks really nice but the quality of the vehicle is very cheap. When a car starts to have problem after problem thats a sign to get rid of the car. It's not worth it to keep fixing it you will just be wasting your money. You will probably lose about 1500-2000$ if you sell it, but hey it might be worth it because fixing it will cost you so much more.

Everybody needs to have a maintanance program on their vehicle. You need to find a trustworthy mech to check it out. Incidentally the turn sig problem may just be a bulb burned out. If you lower the car, you'll be looking for more problems.

The problems sound minor but I would go ahead and repair the vehicle with some good ol D.I.Y. Don't forget to install an air intake, cat-back, highflow catalytic converter and big vwheels.
