Most are living in poverty, and dont mingle with the rest of the community, as a asian i frequently visit the indian subcontinent, and whenever i meet asians, in particular pakistanis they tell me to help them get into england by saying im there cousin. Ofcourse I tell them to get stuffed, but this sort of mentality has to go away.

That applies to ALL immigrants who come to this country.
If it is good enough to live in, then you should adopt it's ways
and cultures. And be prepared to stand by the flag if called to do so! To speak English should be mandatory!

If by adopting the English culture you mean speaking the language and integrating with whites and people from other racial backgrounds then I agree with you completely.

However, I think it is possible to succeed financially without adopting the culture of any country that you emigrate to. For that, you just need good business acumen.

I am an Asian, born and brought up in the UK.

I know what you mean. I am an Immigrant from Germany. Came to the USA legally about 16 years ago. In order for me to find my way arround, I had to change a few things about my self. As a matter of factly, my deceased husband believed in signing me up at Hill Air Force Base, for learning English as a 2nd language. That course was for officers wifes and was for free. I also got then my GED. It was not necessary but he enforstered that I do go back to school. He said he wanted me to become smarter. And I than attented the University and became a Social Worker. Now, since his passing I am glad he was so insight ful. Cause no one can cheat me about my money. And I am able to read all the documents and understand everything. And yes, it would be better for Chinesh immigrants to mingle and learn to speak English. however, in most places like LA or San Francisco they have their own little cities and communities. That most likly wont go away.

I disagree with most of what you say.
Many Asians in this country are both hard working and affluent.
They can succeed without adopting our culture but it is helpful when they do.
I find the last part of your question offensive and, in my view, untrue.

PS: I am a 64 year old white British citizen and have several very close Asian friends.

Yes of course they should adopt our culture and respect our values and beliefs, not create their own subculture which breeds mistrust and racial hatred from people within the host nation. All that ranting about us all being infidels because we're not muslims is an insult to a great and decent nation that has allowed them to be here in the first place.

I can understand why they don't want to mingle, with the abuse they get. What i don't understand is why they want to be here in the first place. Its a terrible racist country where most don't stand a chance if they are anything but white. Very sad. What exactly is so special about this place?

Wow, what little part of the world do you live in? Ever hear of Little Saigon"? There are corporations that are run and are probably 80% asian. All of them much more well off than me . .and I make a better than average income.

I'm thinking your comment is subliminally racist and ignorant . . .but that's just me.

Yes, I agree, but the trouble is that very few people really know what the English culture is.

to succeed - no [i have succeeded in a foreign country without adopting their culture]

to integrate - yes [problem with any ethnic group is that they tend to stick together forming their own communities, forcing the nationals out of their own area - this then starts off the racial hatred / bigotry cycle]
