What kind of sublte "tells" are there to determine if a co-worker is gay...short of just coming out and asking them?

I notice that very few people are actually answering the question and are really getting all defensive.

This is totally proving the point I was making in another question...

Does not knowing bother you? Would you care if the co-worker was wondering about YOUR sexuality? You really can't "tell" with a great number of gays and it's really not your business, anyway. The only way to know for sure is to ask and that is a highly personal question.

Give it up! There's no such thing. No one realized that Greg Luganis (or however you spell his name) was gay until he hit his head on that diving board during the Olympics. Not to mention, not all men with effeminate mannerisms are gay. Besides...what business is it of yours what this person's sexaul orientation is. It is against the law to even ask a person that at work in most states.

If he is very neat (beyond metrosexual), knows the lyrics (and choreography) of broadway hits by heart, listens to and sings Barbara Streisand' songs, knows the latest trends in fashion, and knows the names of beauty queens and supermodels, then, most probably, he is.

If you pussyfoot around everything, you aren't to be trusted with anything. Just ask in a neutral way if you're that ******* curious. Although it is none of your damn business. More importantly, ask yourself why it's so important you know.

How is a co-workers sexuality any of your business? Why would you even ask such a personal question? Its like someone at work asking you if you and your boyfriend like sex missionary style.

If a hot guy walks by, and his eyes are drifting towards him, you know. Think about it-- how would you go about determining if someone was straight?

It is your co-worker. Give him his space. Be professional.

What earthly business is it of yours whether he's gay or not? What religion are you and how much money do you have in your bank account right now?

if u cant tell, leave him alone. its really none of your business.

If he is, he is merely keeping his private life private like we wish most ppl do. If not, u will just be insulting him.

Keep your ears open for clues, the same as you would if you were trying to figure out if someone were straight.
