I just mean is there some kind of law against it. Like these people are keeping it to throw in my face.

it is not exactly wrong is in immoral. but i think it is the wrong way to go about things.

Short of hacking into your Myspace page and altering your information without your permission, there's little they can do to get in trouble with the law. If they make a copy, alter the information in the copy, and distribute it (publishing it to the web, for example), you may have grounds for a defamation of character (libel) suit.

As for telling you how to live your life, they're either your parents and you're still a minor, or they're just making hot air. I guess it's possible that they could be giving you good advice, but it sure sounds like they're going about it all wrong.
