That's hard to answer because a "Christmas ornament" could be *anything* with a hook or loop on it, that's small enough to hang on some kind of tree... those things could also be found, bought, or made.

Do you have any specific pictures in your mind about exactly what "type" of ornaments you'd like to make??

If you're at all interested in polymer clay, a huge number of different kinds of things are made from it for "ornaments"... if you'd like to check those out, look on the Christmas page at my site:

I saw this idea in a magazine and thought it was good- take a clear round glass ornament and take the top- the small gold thing off. then take any colors of acrylic paints and pour a small amount of each inside, then swirl the ornament around, andmake the inside look marbelized. let dry overnight, stick the top on your finished!

I used to make christmas ornament when I was in college for christmas gifts I made different ones every yr.

*I went to the craft store and bought plain clear glass ornaments with the gold/silver hanger and I would fill it with different color tinsel and puffy paint the outside with a christmas saying/year.. I gave these to my sorority sisters..

*Same glass ball you can spray the inside with pearl/iridescent paint and roll glitter around the inside so it sticks..

*I got the wire cage ornaments and I filled them with prescented poupourri and gave them as gifts... Tied the tops with pretty velvet ribbon..

*Another year.. I started making plaster ornaments with plaster of paris and molds.. I did nativity sets/santa/snowmen etc... I mixed the plaster set in molds and let it dry, painted and spray lacquered.. Very easy and inexpensive..

*They also have the premade white plaster ornaments at walmart you just have to paint/seal them.... Also very inexpensive

I gave all these types of ornaments as gifts.. In fact while me and my now husband were dating I would give him a set.. We still have them on our tree 12 yrs. later... It's a nice keepsake...

You can also get books from the library/craft store for more ideas... You can try Sculpy or bakeable clay as well....good luck
