The White Sox should be sellers, it would take a miracle second half to leap over 3 teams to make a playoff run. They resigned a SP, now they need to shore up another outfielder, shortstop, some speed on the bases and some bullpen help. Dye has the most value but isnt having a great season. Having Thome and Konerko both forces them to look at younger players who can hit play and run.

They're kind of both. They HAVE to shake something up to have a shot.....and its probably in the pitching area. Since they signed Mark Buehrle to a long-term deal, it is Jermaine Dye that will be traded. There's no point for them to carry him any longer. Now I can't tell you who they are going to get for him, but I could see him going to a team like the Twins, who have two or three legitimate power threats in their lineup. But the ChiSox may not want to have to leave him in the AL Central, since that would mean playing against him. Look for teams in need of a veteran or a power hitter to pick up on him. Teams that come to mind? Minnesota, Tampa Bay, maybe Oakland, etc......the only problem is, teams are holding onto their SPs right now. Which means prospects are the most likely players that would come to Chicago for him.

From listening to ESPN, the White Sox aren't in the market to pick anyone up. They're probably look to move Dye if they can otherwise they'll probably try to keep the team together and tweek it over the Winter.

Kenny Williams says that they are both buyers and sellers because they aren't just looking for this year, but also for the future.

I think you will see them unload their higher priced older players and start the rebuilding process. They are out of the chase this year and need to make some solid moves to be competitive next year.
