My beef is that it's ETHICALLY wrong.
I'm a native-born citizen of the United States of America. As I'm healthy and able to work, I pay the same taxes as other workers in my salary range. And yet, I'm denied all the same rights as heterosexuals -- I cannot legally marry my life partner.
Thus, it is intrinsically wrong that my tax obligation is not less than that of heterosexuals who can get married/divorced as many times as they want.
Here's a very simple illustration I've used to explain the situation to straight folks -- it's like going to Disneyland. When you pay the admission price, you can go on all the rides as many times as you like. But when I go there and pay the same admission price, I'm not allowed to ride the Matterhorn, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Space Mountain. So because those are off-limits to me, I shouldn't have to pay the full admission price.
And as for marriage, I simply cannot grasp why it's not allowed. I'm not talking about forcing churches to allow ceremonies, but what would be wrong with getting hitched at City Hall? After all, we're simply talking about people being conjoined in the eyes of the law, so I don't understand how that is offensive to governments -- whose only forays into "morality" are right and just laws dealing with criminal acts against others [you know, the justice system].
I haven't read the other answers, but I'm sure there are some "loving" people who have denounced us. Gotta love those Christians -- they trumpet obnoxiously the world that they're CHRISTIANS, but then don't bother with minor considerations like actually behaving the way the Man requested. [And wouldn't it be interesting that they're hanging out here anyway -- they woulnd't, um, be hoping to encounter visuals, would they?]

I'm just waiting patiently for scientists to find the reason. The evidence is already so high it doesn't seem like it should take much longer. Then I'm going to rub it in the faces of those denying us it and call them the equivalent of racists, because that will be what they will be.
It will be a revolution, come on science.
But for now go Canada, South Africa, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, and some of the rest of Europe!

You of course have free will to do what you want. Men make laws which benefit themselves. In a democratic society when enough people say it is okay to be a pervert, that will be so. But that will never be so, that a person can be a homosexual and remain among the LIVING, by the LAW OF GOD. If you want to be a base perverse animal of the flesh and choose against the goodness of GOD in the SPIRIT . .. you will be allowed this for a time, until you die and we all will die of the flesh . .. Have you considered that GOD does bring plagues on the land as punishment when men become wicked and refuse to do HIS WILL? . .. Therefore you should thank those who live in celibacy making sacrifices for you. Many fight wars overseas so people can live in freedom here, they say. And you know what GOD is seeking a few good men . .. and GOD has found them to be Catholic, if it were not so, GOD would have already brought plagues and tribulation on the Earth .. . You should be thanking us not attacking us . . . I mean the CHRISTian right . .. No you don't deserve equal rights, you deserve to repent and go to HEAVEN . . . not to practice perversions and have GOD curse the Earth for your sake and condemn you in your sins . . . See i do not hate you . .. I LOVE you . .. but you don't see it because you will insist you not GOD makes the laws . ..
LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.

I feel that we, homosexuals are humans afterall. We still breathe the same air, eat the same food and do the same things as the others. Even if sometimes others might not deny equal rights for the homosexuals, the whole main thing still works around the government. It is they who will determine equal rights to us or not.

of course it is wrong and horribly unjust. It's the way the world is and these religious conservatives are focusing on homosexuals more and more lately as it is becoming less socially acceptable to discriminate on other groups, though it does happen still. It is just far more common to see the homosexual discriminated against. And it is a crying shame

For those of you who are completely clueless as to not know of unequal rights, look at marriage.
LGBT people cannot marry one other unrelated person of age OF THEIR CHOOSING and get the same marriage rights given to straight people (over 1000 of them).
The same tired and illogical argument that "we can just marry someone of the opposite sex" still doesn't hold water, as that is obviously NOT the person we would choose to marry for romantic reasons.
Then look further at all the rights associated with marriage, such as adoption, inheritance, hospital visits - all are not equal. Yes, some of these can be addressed with other legal documents - but NONE of these have to be addressed with other legal documents for straight people that are married.

⥠Denying Homosexuals Equal Rights is wrong in ALL aspects!!!
⥠Your right... why should we have to fight for equality when we're supposed to be awarded that right?...why should we pretend to be straight (or be afraid to come out) just because we love someone of the same gender?... why should be stay silent when theres so much to say?
⥠So many whys... one day I believe that we will have equal rights.. who knows if it will be in my lifetime, but it will eventually happen.

Yes, and I think the equal rights movement of today is akin to the Civil Rights movement of the 60's.
