There are alot of neat neutrals out there...I have a color called amazon gold...it has a greenish tint to it some times of the day...You could go with a goldish tint...that would work...also, I don't have white ceilings, I go one shade lighter than the walls, and it looks awesome...
good luck

So often involved in this.

Carpet color????

ONE wall Deep RED; Hunter Green; Etc, etc, etc; CHALLENGE the neutrals.

Beadboard paneling halfway up with cap molding; Pictures and Art that slam out away from the neutral. EVEN complimentary pillows ON the neutral. faux finishes in sponging; rag roll; feather painting; etc.

Color is about as personal as politics and religion. What works for you, might not for me, but that doesn't suggest you can't explore; play; discover. BTW,,,HAPPY is also relative. You might want something very animated; while I might find Happy in subdued natural shades of color. In the END you'll know best, and no answers here might be right or wrong. We all have our opinions and preferences. We all seek and hopefully find, different "Comfort Zones"

TEST your intuition.
