I just let the dog out and there was a big snake outside, just laying on my driveway. THAT made me shudder!

No, I didn't kill it. I didn't get anywhere near it. I grabbed the dog, and ran in the house! There are lakes and woods all around here.

Greetings. A lot of people have a fear of snakes. I think it started with Adam & Eve. However, I hope you didn't kill it. My guess is that it died or was dying on your driveway. Snakes don't lay out in the open in urban places. All poisonous snakes in North America have distinctly triangular heads except for the Coral Snake. They're banded and the way you tell them from their harmless cousins is if the red and yellow bands are adjacent, it's a Coral Snake. A way to remember is the old mnemonic: Red and yella kill a fella.

I'm so glad you didn't kill it!! And i'm glad he didn't bite you or your pup.
Umm, the first thing that comes to mind when you say shudder is people with bodies that I find really unattatractive in skimpy clothes or bathing suits. People with guts hanging out of their clothes etc
Unattractive to me - maybe attractive to others though - tried to word this as nicely as poss

aaw, I like snakes. I wanted a pet one when I was little but I never could get my mom talked into it ... lol
the sound of fingernails scraping down a chalkboard is the classic shudder-inducer that gets me ... ugh. I'm getting the shudders just thinking about that sound ... that and the sound of my little brother screaming. ;O)

Shudder in a bad way? Religious extremism, mimes, political cronyism, pretty much anything having to do with Michael Jackson.
