Did you know that if you go down to South Station, you will find donation boxes for servicemen and servicewomen overseas? Also posted are particular items that are especially sought after, such as sunblock, deodorants, playing cards, hard candies, disposable razors, etc. If you have EVER said, 'Yes, I support the troops...', no matter how you ended that sentence, PLEASE go by South Station, and give as much as you can. Will you do this today and tomorrow [Wednesday & Thursday, July 18 & 19]?

That 'I support the troops but not the war' is kind of what I was driving at. Even if you don't live near Boston to participate in this, maybe you can do something where you are to put your money where your mouth is and actually DO SOMETHING to support the troops, as you say you do, instead of just parroting puerile cliches that you don't really mean after all.
Even if you believe the 'best way to support the troops is to bring them home', I'm sure they'd appreciate an extra bottle of sunblock until they do get home.
