Just: Yes or No.

No drawn out answers please as to why it's "only a 'comedy' "- if you call it that.

Thanks!

I feel it will make for more gay bashing.

No, I don't suspect that it will be all that popular at all. This type of movie does not usually fare well. And right now, there are soooo many bigger movies out: Harry Potter, Transformers, and the soon to be released Simpson's movie.

And quite frankly, I don't believe it demeans gay men at all. In the movie, the characters are STRAIGHT! It shows simply the idiocies of what straight people think about gays!

Spiritually speaking, it's so we can ask a question that might be on shaky ground as far as Y!A and the report monkeys are concerned. It seems silly, but it usually works. And there are some people who still care about violation notices. I think most of us figure that any given account is on borrowed time if you participate in this Forum often, but there are those who just don't like getting VN's.

Hi! My first answer here!
I also saw Adam Sandler refer to gay people as "weird" this morning on GMA. He was referring to his kids asking him why "He's acting weird in that movie?" I caught it and I thought to myself, "Hmmmmm."

I do think this movie will be the comedy of the summer. Adam Sandler is pretty popular among the drunken frat boy types. Even though in my opnion, I think he's a little old, and a little beyond this kind of cheap shot humor.

I have been reading a lot about this movie from people who have reviewed it and it's mostly loved by people who have said that "gay stereotypes are hilarious" There was one woman who was Gay who had good point on blog I read about this movie where she stated that she didn't find making a comedy about fighting for equal rights was very funny, and also the timing for this movie is inappropriate since Gay Marriage is being banned in almost every state and where your rights are being taken away by Law. She also stated that this movie gives notion to Gays "getting special rights" with regards to the "domestic partnership" issue.

All in all, I agree with the bloggers who have reviewed this movie as it does insult gay people, but, insults make money. And, that's all that studio's care about.

I just saw him say that gay people were weard, and thought I was the only one who caught him say that. I am personally not going to see it. If it is against the gay population, I will hear about it in the news. Just hope it isn't too homophobic, because this could hurt the actors careers, but I don't know. Depends on what is said in the movie.

I saw Adam Sandler refer to gays as weird this morning too and thought it was strange of him to say, but, again, he has that homophobic "uncomfortable around gays" audience to cater to as well.

I'll wait and see on this movie, but, I have a feeling that this movie will be like Boat Trip which only stereotyped gays as well.

I do think this movie will win the over the hearts of those who dislike gays, so probably successful.

I havent seen to movie to determine if it mocks gay marraige or demeans anyone but I think it may be "hugely successful" if it turns out to be funny & entertaining & it wont if its not.

Yes, it does mock gay men. It also shows that men just marry to receive the benefits from corporations, that there is no love or relation needed in a gay marriage.

But so what? It's just a movie. No different than 'The Godfather" mocking Italians and showing that they are all mobsters and criminals.
