They made their point.
My only issue with it is that the point was made prior to the "Sleepover." It was therefore kind of useless, and since the point had already been made, there was no interest in the session.

The sleepover thing was just a stupid publicity stunt. I think that if they had actually spent the night awake, debating, I might have been impressed, but they didn't. A couple of people would be up making speeches, the rest were back in their offices sleeping on cots or couches. Even Harry Reid, who came up with this stupid idea bailed on it and went back to his office. Do you think he was awake? No, he was asleep too. It didn't show me that they cared, it just looked like a cheap publicity stunt that some used car dealer would pull to get attention.

The overnight debate is simply a plubicity stunt to get people to recognize who is stoping the exit of our troops from iraq. The fact that we are talking about it and that it is receiving converage makes it a success. The congress have been hampered with low approval ratings I believe this was an effort to show people that it is not the democratic party who is halting progress in an attempt to detach itself from the low opinions. Republicans have done a good job of making it seem like dems can not get anything done and this is their reponse to that, symbolic saying that republicans are the reason why.

A bunch of millionaires sleeping on cots. That'll show those terrorists! Never let it be said that Democrats are weak on national defense.

Who knows if it worked? What does "worked" mean?
If it creates a dialouge regarding Iraq then I think it has succeeded.
God knows the Republicans don't want to talk about it.
Just keep spending our tax dollars on a pointless war. Keep those "terrorists" on the move.. haha..
You people are idiots.

I think this was a joke. The rally outside was a bunch of loons who hate their country. The majority of people don't think an immediate pullout is the way to go even though the far left polls may say so. The surge is working. That's why dems are putting so much pressure on a pullout. They want to see us fail because they know it will hurt them politically.

the 'sleepover' proved what most of us already know...this session of congress is the most vapid, mind-numbed, worhtless bunch of alcoholics (Kennedy), perverts (Barney Frank), and over-paid, know-nothing policy-wonk losers ( Hillary KKKlinton, Harry Reid ) that our country has been infested with in a long time...
everyone talks about the low numbers for the President...but congress' numbers are FAR lower...
that's what you get when you put an idiot like Pelosi in charge of anything more complicated than a Mr Coffee machine.

It worked to expose them as the posturing jackasses that they are. They can cut all funding for the war today if they really wanted to.

This is a part of government: we debate... I have no problem with this; I think it is way over due.
Would you rather that the government take a summer vacation?
