My files are spread between 5 different doctors at 2 different hospitals and one GP's surgery. And not one of them can tell me what's wrong with me. (I managed to guess that I have a problem with my immune system.) So how can I get my hands on 'em and read for myself?
(Live in England, by the way...)

Not sure about England, but in the US you are allowed to get a copy of your medical files. The originals are the property of the Dr. and/or medical facility. Go to their individual offices and request a copy. You may have to wait up to a week though because it takes time to copy medical files.

By the way, in the US usually there is no fee to give the patient a copy.

I believe you have the right to obtain a copy of your medical files by calling the doctors and asking for a copy... they probably charge a fee.

take care.

Yes, you just have to ask! Probably best to view it with a Dr because there is a lot of shorthand used and certain things may sound serious when they are not and create unnecessary anxiety for you.
Good luck
