Yes, they feel it raises the emotional impact, and most kids these days are partially deaf from the loud music. It is why I stopped seeing movies in the theater.

Yes the background sounds and music is often to loud so you must adjust the volume when they talk

Maybe you sat too close to the speakers? I have a hearing impairment so I don't really agree that they turn the volume up too loud.
At least I can hear it.

sometimes they go a little overboard depending on the theatre. I tend not to go to the movies cause my butt hurts sitting in those seats for 2 hours

i never go to theaters for movies because every time i do the AUDIENCE is turned up too loud.

It's that surround-sound concept - so you "hear" the action as well as see it......and it can be too loud at times.
