It is not okay. But, caucasians have not had a reason to hate those who persecute them as much as some other races because they have been the dominate race in most areas for so long. Afro-americans have a reason (although not so much now a days as in the past) to feel that the "n" word is a strong insult. That is why I really think it is wrong for them to even call themselves as such and many of my black friends agree.

I am as white as it comes and even I know that. When white people say that it comes out different, and offends black people, but if you try and walk a mile in their shoes you might get offended too. Of course it goes back to slave days and none of us are on that anymore but even now we have two different ways of living. So open your mind and try not to say that word (after all its just a word).
