I need to call someones place of work and ask if a certain person works there without speaking to them, its complicated but im not sure what to say??

You could lie and call the human resources dept and say you are checking their employment for a credit/loan application and just need to verify that they are employed there.

Can you not go into the shop. If not ring them and see who answers if its the person you dont wanna talk 2 well hang up. If someone answers just ask them to find out but not let the person know.

Them- Yes, how may I help you?
You- Could you confirm for me that so-and-so works at this address?
Them- Yes they do. Would you like to speak to them?

just ask for them out right (please can i speak to....), it could be seen as you need to talk to them about wherever they work. if they ask why then depending on the company or place of work, invent a story so they dont get suspicious. if they dont work there then who ever answers will say so anyway. good luck!

ring the place and just say can i speak to. and if they say yes certainly well you know they work there, or you could get sorry don't know anyone here with that name well there is your answer as well.

if they ask why say that their mate called and leave your number so then they call you!!!
if you dont want to use this...try something else

call the place and ask to speek to the person.if u get a response that shows they do work there put the phone down.if they ask who you are make up a name.

if they say yes, then hang up......
if they ask who you are, tell them your from the STD clinic and you have their test results......
the person on the other end of the phone will be too shocked to question you further
