If it could seriously hurt physically or emotionally the person who told you or another person, I think it's okay to let the cat out of the bag. But I would first let the person know you need to reveal the information to others.

When not telling can have adverse effects on the health and well being of others. A secret desire to end ones life for example. Or a plan to get revenge on others for an action they have taken.

when it comes to a family crisis, as family member abuse toward that person telling you, then definitely tell them u r going to tell a counselor so they can get help to the person abusing, or when it comes to a person molesting someone. they say dont tell cause it will get them in trouble. there is no trouble in that, the person telling you is doing the right thing by telling you. all you have to do is tell them u need to get them help so the matter stops. otherwise, if it isnt that serious, just gossip about friends or a boyfriend, then never! id want them to give me that in return!

Well, what's the use of a secret if you can't tell. It's OK to tell when the other person is in another room or when they're out of earshot.

when that secret will hurt some one pretty bad. then you take that secret to the police or some one else that can help. other wise it is never ok to tell.

It really is never OK so to speak, but if they person is getting harmed in some way or another then I would do everything I could to help them out.

why would it be ok to tell a secret? its not ok to tell a secret considering someone told you not to tell it to anyone. so i would say it is never any point.

well it depends on what the situation is if it is something that has to do with someones life i would advise that person that told you the secret to do something about it, b/c i would not suggest keeping it secret

If it is hurting somebody or something else... or if it is hurting the person. If real harm comes into play then it's a good idea to get help.
