Democrat. So do I.
If we can finally find a way to reduce the political bigotry (NOT YOU! YOU'RE FINE!) we might find some ways to make the goals of all patriots come true.
Space travel to reduce the reasons for war, getting access to new resources and preventing limited resoures.
Everyone speaking up against terrorism together to make it a pariah, so that NO ONE wants to be a terrorist, starting with Islam accepting free speech and freedom of religion.
Greater understanding and mastery of science, particularly psychology, such that criminals could be released but electronically stunned upon thinking of committing a crime, freeing up our jails (they'd have to have already committed a crime to get this sentence).
New forms of the same drugs, non-damaging (no interest, myself), and clear consequences for actions rather than the drugs themselves (can't have lighter sentences for crime, and make drugs legal at the same time).
Larger consequences for welfare fraud.
Better education about sexual behavior for our children that does not encourage sex, and gives greater control to parents until they are no longer responsible for the child.
Better adoption practices and encouragements to finish pregnancies rather than abort, while having consequences (such as all-same-sex schools) for anyone pregnant under a certain age.
Government guided health care in private hands, maximizing competition to keep prices down (I'm no socialist, thank you).
Concentrate on punishing criminals so people don't feel the need to have their own gun (society has done pretty well on that since the pioneer days).
Our country will do fine if it has patriots who put their country first, ahead of their ideology.
I'm a democrat. I helped fight for freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, and equality.
We helped make those household words. Republicans have conceded those points and helped, now, more than ever. However, we as a party need to get back to those principles, and shake off the socialism and political bigotry if we are going to keep the respect of this country.
Keep speaking up. It isn't that easy, but together, we might make it happen along with the goals dearest to Republican patriots. I'll be there to help.
Gas and brakes. Need both no matter what direction you're headed.

Not for me, no. I'm afraid that I am psychologically ill-equipped to deal with a utopia.
That's not how the libs think the world /is/, though, it's just how they want it to be.
The way they think the world is now is different. It's being held back from the utopia they've been zealously working towards for 40 years by evil conspirators like George Bush II, the Free Masons, Zionists, and the omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent Big Corporations that Rule the World.
So, no, I /really/ wouldn't want the world to be what the libs think it is.

Wouldn't it be great if, like John Lennon said, war was unnecessary?
Lennon was speaking idealistic terms, nobody believes that is true in real life.
Wouldn't it be great if we left Iraq and the terrorists just left us alone, forever? Or if the war really WAS for oil profits, and we don't have to worry about a terrorist threat?
Iraq is not about terrorism. How many times do you guys have to be told that?
Wouldn't it be great if we could just reason with criminals, and then let them back on the street and not have to worry about repeat offenders?
Only a fool would believe that.
Wouldn't it be great if illicit drugs really caused no social problems, and we could legalize them and enjoy them?
You mean like alcohol and nicotene?
Wouldn't it be great if people would not get on welfare just because they were too lazy to get a job?
I don't know anybody on welfare, so I don't know who is too lazy.
Wouldn't it be great if teaching our children about safe sex wouldn't encourage them to have more of it? Or even better, wouldn’t it be great if we could all have all the sex we wanted without worrying about STD’s or unwanted pregnancies?
Yeah people never had out of wedlock sex before sex education. That 2000 years of christian sex education has really worked well.
Wouldn’t it be great if an abortion did not end a human life?
It doesn't
Wouldn't it be great if we could have government-sponsored health care without shoddy doctors like Cuba or 18 week waits like Canada?
http://www.fraserinstitute.ca/shared/rea...
Right wing source. They included all procedure in their data including elective procedures. Skewed results.
Wouldn't it be great if we really could make handguns illegal without worrying about criminals getting them illegally?
So making it easier to get guns will help gun violence how?

Hey I used to believe all of that , but then again I was only 12 years old many Libs never grow up or mature. They kind of remind me of Castro, he is in his 80's he knows that communism does not work but he is to stubborn and bone headed to take his nation in a new direction.

Without question, the war in Iraq was unnecessary and now it is a quagmire we cannot extracate ourselves from without at grave risk.
2 million people are in prison in this country, more than any other and more per capita than just about any other country. So there aren't enough people in jail to suit you?
Do you believe that the social problems of illegal drugs, the organized crime to distrubute them and 1 million people in prison because of it all is a better deal for America than legal and controlled access? Prohibition does not work and creates more problems than it solves.
Welfare is 1% of government spending. 80% of welfare recipients are children and do not stay on indefinetly. You would rather see starving children than risk spending pennies of your taxes on someone you judge to be lazy?
We have been teaching safe sex for 20 years and teen sex, teen preganancy, and teen STD's are way down. Condom use is actually up. Sounds great to me.
Wouldn't it be great if businesses could actually control the cost of helath insurance. Wouldn't it be great if small entrepenuers good risk their capital by going into business instead of spending it on health insurance of thier families or worse, going without. Wouldn't it be great if small businesses didn't lose thier employees everytime their uninsured workers face illness or accidents in their families. Wouldn't it be great if the number 1 cause of personal bancruptcy just went away.
Wouldn't it be great to address the 30,000 gun deaths per year in this country with sensible law. Why is it that a zygote, balsotcyst or frozen embryo has more right to life than those killed by guns?
It really is that simple.

No, because if it did, we'd all be stupid idiots. Thank God only the Libs are now.
Sparhawk said it better than any of the rest of us did. If this had been my question, I'd give him the best answer!

That's the problem with liberal philosophy. It's more about the short term feel good answer than about a long term solution that will attack the source of a problem.
I am not sure that I can blame them too much though, after all they are dealing with a base of voters that can't see past their desire for bread and circuses.

Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she's gone.
{REFRAIN}
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Lucy in the sky with diamonds
Ah... Ah...
{VERSE 2}
Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies,
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.
Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you're gone.
{REFRAIN}
Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties,
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstile,
The girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
{REFRAIN REPEATED AND FADED}
