Are extraterrestrial lifeforms for real? Why do you believe and why not.

I'm sure there is intelligent life somewhere, just not here.

The intelligent beings in other galaxies are certainly NOT like us. They would have to be complete idiots to be as stupid as we are. Only a rare freak of nature could produce a bunch of whacky monkeys like us. Why do you think the intelligent beings haven't contacted us? Think they want to come here and buy our Cheeze Whiz, Lady Clairol, and microsoft software?

They don't want to waste their time on a bunch of doofus monkeys.

Also: I don't think we're at the complete bottom in the great chain of un-intelligence, but, we're probably not far off.

Hope that helps,

GN

I think there are many, many, many intelligent life forms in the universe, but I doubt that any are very much like us. Some scientists say life follows similar patterns, but I doubt it. If they do exist, we will never see them. Distances are much too great. No matter can travel at the velocity of light. The nearest star to our Sun or sol is Proxima Centauri. If a ship left there at Earth's exscape velocity, it'd take it 106,448 years to reach us and another 106,448 years to return home. As I said, no one from other planets will ever visit us.

Probably. We haven't proved it, but neither have we disproved it. We do know that the chemicals of life exist in clouds in space and on the surfaces of some planets. And we know that those chemicals on Earth resulted in intelligent life (us). We know for sure there are planets orbiting some stars and more are discovered every year, so we assume that planets orbit a large percentage of all stars. There are trillions and trillions of stars in all the galaxies we can see. So it at least seems likely that intelligent life exists on at least some other planets.

I quiet believe that there is intelligent life form on some or the other planet, but who says that it is necessary that to be alive one needs conditions similar to that of earth... may be some other kind of life form has evolved which can sustain itself in other climatic conditions and which does not need conditions similar to that of earth... No one knows for sure , but i am ready to accept this with an open mind... just by looking at earth and the varried types of flora and fauna that it supports one can imagine what vast possibilities the entire universe holds for any kind of life form to exists.

Certainly. There are billions of galaxies and it would be reasonable to believe that there must be intelligent life somewhere out there. They don't visit Earth though and we may never be able to contact them.

There's no intelligent life here, so why should there be any in other galaxies?

On the other hand, they have stayed away ... hmmm, maybe they are intelligent after all.

Yes there is other life out in the Universe, it may or may not be like us, we are based on carbon, where other life may be based on iron or who knows what.
To think that we are alone in this vast Universe would be the biggest mistake ever made.
Check your Bible, like it sees, there are many mentions in life stiles to come.

Mathematics says yes. But, likely we will never know for sure.

I'm not doing opinion poll questions like this one. I'm not doing essay questions either.

If you can't get it in your head that with 200 billion stars in our Milky Way galaxy alone, that somewhere there are other cultures evolving and developing technology to master space, then I can't help your intellectual handicap.
