No, there was an "accident", that's all. The abduction was clearly staged.
tragically Madeleine is not alive, and the truth about May 3rd will never emerge.

There are a lot of opinions regarding this case, mainly because there is no evidence at all to pinpoint what actually happened that night.
The McCanns have staunchly claimed 'abduction' from day one and disregarded any other scenario. There is no evidence to suggest Madeleine was abducted, so unless the McCanns know otherwise I don't know how they can be so sure. Why not consider her wandering off or sleepwalking?
Kate's uncle was quoted on Sky News saying that the couple weren't wealthy and the fund money would come in handy. Separate from the fund, there have been donations from celebrities totalling £2.6m, so blackmail or ransom could easily be paid.
I don't necessarily think they had something to do with it, but we don't know these people. You can't make a judgement on a 2 minute news report, although some people on here find it in themselves to defend them to the hilt. I can't do that - Madeleine is where she is today as a direct result of the McCanns choosing dinner at the Tapas Bar without their children.

I dont believe they "staged" an abduction. I believe something happened that they arnt telling about though. An accident maybe? Perhaps Gerry or Kate accidently overdosed Madeleine (because Im pretty sure all 3 kids were being sedated at night, hence the "she couldnt possibly have woke up and walked out" lines the parents keep saying) and because the twins were STILL asleep, after Kate frantically searched the rooms for Maddy, probably screaming her name, ran out the flat, then 22 people went back to the flat to help?
I think a cover-up was then hatched. Whatever happened, Id bet my life that the McCanns AND the tapas group know more than they let on. And Gerry more than all of them. He knows what happened. IF a kidnapping DID happen, I dont think they were involved, but they were still negligent, that fact will never change.

confident. that's called Divine Laziness, and Ignorant layout. Ignorant layout comes into it whilst human beings answer a thoroughly diverse question to what became asked, or choose for to rant particularly of answering. a good looking occasion I as quickly as had became a shrink'n'paste that crammed the website, yet did no longer answer the question in any respect. i've got additionally had some people who thoroughly forget on the topic of the question itself, and in simple terms say stuff like 'I agree'. ok, you settle. honest adequate, now could you prefer to tell me your answer at any time? Divine Laziness is the different great non secular clarification for no longer analyzing. It takes the kind of a query format (i'm going to thieve your occasion): Q: Why do no longer Xs ever seem to tolerate Ys? QD: i do no longer individually think of there is many Xs who dislike Ys, that's in straightforward terms a small minority who've a tendency to be somewhat rude and disgusting of their attitudes. A case of the noisiest few, in an attempt to speak. what's your opinion in this? A: we are no longer ALL like that!!! end being so judgemental!! ummmm.....examine IT next TIME!!!! lol. ((((hugs))))

I was saddened to see that the people with a reasonable point of view have received alot of thumbs down and yet these are the ones who make the most sense the only fact we can comment on confidently is what we know to be true the rest is pure speculation and doesn't help anyone especially in finding Maddie, the more i read the more fanciful the speculation becomes and i have now come to a point where these made up situations and the attacks against the McCain's is ludicrous and really should be stopped.

I don't believe that the parents had anything to do with it but there are lots of unanswered questions. How long were the children left alone/did they leave them everynight/what were the timings of finding her missing and police involved/could you actually see the apartment from the tapas bar/ from the photos Ive seen you could not. The parents seemed to say that you could/how did the person get into apartment/was the shutter broken or not. I could go on but I am sure they have already been asked on YA. Its a shame we are not getting any correct info. The whole fund things doesnt seem right as they are not using the money to find madeleine and also for the uncle to say they are not wealthy is quite insensitive when its the general public donating who probably earn alot less because we all know Drs and heart specialists earn lots of money.

There are so many ifs and buts. if onlys, maybe if, and all sorts of other things about this case that the truth has been lost along the line. The least thing the McCanns can be criticised for is Their gross neglect of their children on the night of the child's disappearance. Since then they have done themselves no favours at all by all the publicity that they have generated for themselves, the British "rag" news papers adopted them as a way to boost circulation, there's nothing like a tragedy involving a child to boost circulation. After their television appearances to beg for money through their "official" charity, and their subsequent trips all over Europe during which they stayed in luxury hotels ,paid for via the charity, people began to question their integrity. Many people began to see past the pathetic facade that they presented. They now seem to be nothing more than, hard faced, self promoting, money grabbing charlatans. The one question still outstanding is ,where is that poor little girl ? I and many others still think that the McCain's should be interrogated more thoroughly, there are too many inconsistencies in their story, they have tripped themselves up several times

But which truth are they telling? The Mccann version of events has constantly evolved, so what exactly IS the truth?
Something happened to Madeleine, probably before 6pm, when Gerry cancelleded the babysitter that had finally agreed to use. Why cancell? They also turned down the offer of a free baby monitor, which Gerry claimed wasn't necessary.
Also who was the friend missing from the dinner table for some considerable time? (as stated by an independent witness) Where did that person go, and what were they doing? Is that one of the people who can confidently identify Murat?
Lots of questions, and the Mccann's always seem to have a different answer.

It is the likelyt heory that madeleine got up in the night and went in search of her parents, someone saw her and took advantage of the scenario. it was reoprted that on a night previous to 3 may, madeleine did indeed wake up and decided to search for her parents. Gerry and Kate claimed from the first day that it was an abduction as i am yet to see evidence which suggests the same. Just like qwckbrownfox, i believe she is no longer alive.

The general opinion seems to be that a) the parents left their kids to go out with their mates and b) they seem more concerned about becoming celebrities and getting money out of the public than actually doing something to find Madeleine.
I think it is possible that there was an accident or something, but even if that isn't the case, there are a lot of inconsistencies in their stories. Something just doesn't add up.

Could be any or all of the above, and I have no idea if the child was abducted, toddled off on her own or whatever. What is really riling most folks on here, ESPECIALLY (but not solely) mothers, is the fact that babies were left alone and vulnerable. NO decent parent would do this. None of the National UK Press feel it necessary to castigate them for it. If it had been a poorer, unskilled family, all hell would have been blazed over the front pages. I want to see them investigated for child neglect
