Do all these "sex tapes" of celebrities...?

Do all these tapes that somehow make it into the hands of the public really hurt their careers or does it actually help them? Do you think some of them do it on purpose to get back in the news?

No such thing as bad publicity anymore. If it gets attention, they get more fame, period.

It has to be intentional. Why the Hell MAKE a tape unless you intend for people to see it? I mean sure, you may want yourself and your lover to maybe keep it, but put it in a locked box or something that nobody but the 2 of you can ever get into. Don't put it in a public storage area where it gets siezed for failure to pay the storage space rent. * cough * Paris Hilton * cough *

Otherwise, making a tape is just asking for trouble. Some idiot out there will sell it online and make millions of dollars off of it because of all the perverts out there, at the expense of yoru dignity and privacy.

Well, let's look at who has had a sex tape, and what it has done for them.

Pamala Anderson - it didn't really start her career, but after Baywatch ended, it did allow her to get back into the public eye.

Paris Hilton - wouldn't have any career to speak of without the One Night in Paris video.

Screetch - I don't even want to comment.

It's like the Jessica Simpson Tuna comment. Before she says that she doesn't know if it's Tuna or if it's Chicken, she is selling a couple of CD's, but she isn't a household name. After, she is thought of as a complete moron, and her CD sales skyrocket. I have trouble thinking that she is an accidental idiot. I tend to think that very smart marketing people are ensuring that these things happen to help the career of the person whose tape "happened" to slip out.

like they say any publicity is good publicity
but i really don't want to see screech naked
unless it is with Kelly Kapowski or Lisa Turtle or maybe mr. belding
