low battery, replace. If it doesnt stop, replace whole thing.

Other though, got any young teens in the house? Most feel more daring to smoke when parents are in bed. But I really think its either a low battery or an old detector that due for replacement.

issues which could set off a detector to go off.. - Smoke... - airborne dirt and dust (interior the air or only via fact it has accumulated interior the alarm) - Damp/steam, commonly showers and the humidity from them can set off it. - undesirable battery.... - previous detector.. or it particularly is defective... whether this is the unique, it ought to have been in a warehouse for 4-5 years ? the existence of a detector. .. the battery or detector ought to be duff. what's 'that previous' to you ?

Change the batteries in it.....they do that when the batteries are low, that way you change them and make sure they work when the times are needed
