Are there any other defining characteristics of what homosexuality is? Is it purely based on your sexual preference?

That is an extremely shallow interpretation of homosexuality. To get a tiny bit of an idea of what it would be like, imagine yourself to be in a body of the opposite sex to the one you have now. Imagine people frowning at you for not being the person "you" know that you're not, that no-one understands your feelings. Wouldn't you feel isolated, and seek out people like you? The sexual thing is only a reaction, not a driving element.

Homosexuality is a definition of your sexual orientation. If you're only attracted to the same sex as yourself then you're homosexual. Actually having sex has nothing to do with it. You can be a virgin or practice abstenence and still be gay.

Additionally, sexual "preference" is a bit misleading. Unless you're bi, you really can't choose what gender you're attracted to. Believe me, there'd be a lot less gay people in the world if it was a matter of choice.

Lets make this perfectly clear, a person can be a celebate virgin hermit cloistered in a cave never seeing another human being their whole lives and still be a homosexual. It has nothing to do with sex. This is a huge problem for many an ignorant person. The moment the letters s, e and x appear in a long word they get confused.

Take the sex out of homosexuality and you're left with homo, which is derived from the Latin word for MAN. This is where the term homosapiens comes from, same with homonid, homoginized, and so on.

I hope this helps end once and for all any confusion people have on the origin and correct meaning of the term homosexual.

The definition really only contains the sexual preference. Everything else said about homosexuals is just a generalization.

no, a homosexual virgin or a celibate homosexual is still a homosexual, its all based on your orientation, which is the direction of your romantic and sexual feelings towards one gender or ther other (or both genders, or multiple different types of "genders", or just people regardless of gender, or none of the above)

Obama isn't professional-abortion, he's professional-determination. criminal or not, it remains the mothers determination. Coat hanger returned alley abortions are incredibly gruesome too. they freely mock Christians approximately marriage, because of the fact (so noted as) Christians brazenly think of they'd desire to have the skill to provide up human beings from being unchristian approximately marriage. not everybody is Christian, or maybe Mormon's (Christian) think of dissimilar different halves is robust. (greater power to 'em, I cant shelter the single i've got have been given) What you call a Christian Marriage isn't what Gays prefer. they'd in all probability be chuffed to call it cohabitation in the event that they'd get tax breaks and well-being care and government courses like married couples. Marriage isn't what it was (regrettably) it is not a "till ultimately demise do us area" settlement anymore. The criminal definition and the Christian definition of marriage is obviously not an identical element. united states of america of america became based on the principals of FREEDOM of religion. united states of america of america isn't the stepping stone to heaven. there are various individuals who won't see heaven. (in all probability maximum of 'em) Who is going to heaven and who does not is obviously between the guy and God. There are to many distinctive religions in united states of america of america who have faith they are going to be the only ones going to heaven. they'd't all be suited. perhaps sometime Gays and mothers who've made the incorrect determination will understand the blunders of their methods and repent. Can they not with the help of your words get into heaven then? maximum mothers who've aborted in straightforward terms do it as quickly as and would desire to hold the guilt of it continuously, they frequently do repent suited afterwards. yet you may not take that determination away, criminal or not, it somewhat is purely as a lot a sin to get pregnant in todays society, and abortion is how they hide the sin. Sinners are everywhere. enable he who's without sin forged the 1st stone. Repent and be forgiven. who're you to be much less forgiving than God.

No, that's not right.

A person is considered homosexual if he or she finds others of the same gender sexually attractive, and not those of the opposite gender.
Whether that person 'has sex with people of the same gender' is irrelevant.

Homosexuality refers to sexual attraction or sexual behaviour between people of the same sex.

No other criteria need to be met.

I disagree. Straight people experiment and have sex with someone of the same gender....this does not define someone as gay. They are just sorting things out.
Gay is someone that is attracted to the same sex. Sex itself, never has to enter into the equation....but what's the point...lol

Base upon sexual preference, I guess, but labels are so ridiculous - anyway - in particular, with adults and love.
