OK - so maybe we don't all do it. But I think I have come across a lot of people who do.

I think because its just standard in the English language. Other languages with male and female nouns tend to not do that as often...

i do because most women do care about being identified and they like to do those "dress up" type of things with anything. males are more proned to just leave it as it is and go about their business. they dont need to make it pretty or whatever. thats why a males house is a lot different then a womens house.
