There is only one way to avoid a discharge.
Resign with the understanding that the entire issue will be held confidential. Your boss may agree to this. On the other hand, he may just fire you and let the legal system deal with you and show no mercy.
It is worth a conversation but don't put a lot of hope in it. You are in deep water here.

Got your self in a bit of a mess, i would say your going have blag it big time with the boss Try to get your boss on his own & tell him your really really sorry. Tell him you got issues out side of work & you wasent thinking straight at the time & promise him it wont happen again, but you got to get him on his own to do this, try to make him feel sorry for you. So when it does come to the meeting. He will put that to account that you went up to & said that. Well it worked for me, its all to do with respect , end of the day....Good luck
