I would choose "to love". At least this way I would feel pretty ok with myself, because I would just give all the love I had to the ones I wanted.

If you love someone it is great if he/she loves you back, but you don't love him/her in order to be loved back... ;)

Not being able to love would hurt me more than being hurt because I am not loved.

I think I would like to be loved. Because to love someone and have them feel nothing would kill me, but to be loved would be a different feeling entirely.
