I agree with you entirely. At one time I thought that no one can be as good as Gavaskar but Tendulkar proved me wrong. He is better than Gavaskar without a doubt. I think there is no bowler who would rather like to face any other batsman than Tendulkar. Tendulkar is Michael Jordan of cricket.

I would actually say Gavaskar. The one thing that is not often mentioned is that a lot of Sachin's hundreds are made in draws or losses. Making more hundreds is good, but a big score is always a lot better in a winning cause (Or I suppose battling out a draw on the last day when your team could easily collapse and lose)

well said buddy,
even imaran,Wasim, waqar or McGrath, Gillespi & Leeare in way behind to windies pace battery.
Amasing Sunny got 13 centuries against Loyde's Mighty West Indies at a time when they had deadly bowlers of ALL TIME like Marshell, Roberts, Holdings & Garner who are still considered the most feared bowlers in the history.
tendulkar in Presure just to be a hero and collect money.
So gavaskar is the Master.Sachin is only a properganda Hero in Adds.

Both are good players, but i will give a edge to Sunil Gavaskar....because the pressure of media and fans doesn't matters in feild , in feild their is much pressure of scoring and leading your team to win the match,,,
Sunil Manohar Gavaskar pronunciation (born July 10, 1949 at Bombay, Maharashtra), nicknamed Sunny, was a cricket player during the 1970s and 1980s for Bombay and India. Widely regarded as one of the greatest opening batsmen in the Indian Test history, Gavaskar set world records during his career for the most runs and most centuries scored by any batsman. He held the record of 34 Test centuries for almost two decades before it was broken by Sachin Tendulkar in December 2005. He was widely admired for his technique against fast bowling, with a particularly high average of 65.45 against the West Indies, who possessed a four-pronged fast bowling attack regarded as the most vicious in Test history. His captaincy of the Indian team, however, was less successful. The team at one stage went 31 Test matches without a victory. There were incidents like crowd displeasure at Eden Gardens in Calcutta leading to multiple matches being disrupted, in response to the poor performance of the Indian team. Turbulent performances of the team lead to multiple exchanges of captaincy between Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, with one of Gavaskar's sackings coming just six months before Kapil led India to victory at the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

Yes.He faced the world's best fast bowlers(not only WI) that too at the start of an innings without much support from the other end.(Chauhan and shrikanth to some extent)
He was the one to turn the world's attention to India from 1970-71.
