I watched a beautiful mind last night.i found it really sad but i find myself intrigued by these stories of intelligent people gone mad.anyone else find them interesting???i recently watched a dvd about syd barrett aswell.i found it a really interesting story.one of my fave artists is daniel johnston.a film was brought out about him recently called the devil and daniel johnston.its his story about his music and mental illness.i just find myself drawn in by these stories and syd barrett and daniel johnstons music itself.i just find it fascinating having a doorway into their mind.i am curious if theres any other good films/documentaries on similar people/subjects or music by similar artists???cheers

I used to be interested in them until my dad developed his own 'beautiful mind' and now it's exhausting, it's a very sad and frustrating illness...... but for similar films...

Mr. Jones with Richard Gere & Lena Olin
Pollock ......Ed Harris
Syliva....Gwyneth Paltrow

Iris, starring Judi dench. It's a film based on the true story of Iris Murdoch, a novelist and philosopher who suffered from dementia or altzheimer's disease(can't remember which one), I'll have to track down a copy for myself.

Van Gogh and Edvard Munch come to mind. Google them to read their stories. Also Mozart, he was a bit of a nutter too.
