Cricket is not the most popular game in the world. It is only popular in few countries. Football is most popular in large number of countries in the world as compared to any other game.

Mr. thamara, popularity doesn't effect any game, neither ranking it does make any difference. I know that football and cricket are very popular in the world, so ranking the sport is not a good, tell me , that did ranking effect your interest, to watch a match either football or cricket ?If it effects your interest, but not mine!

Football(soccer) is no.1 for sure. As far as fan following is concerned cricket is at no.2 thanks to 1 billion Indians. Cricket is
nothing without India. If China joins International cricket then it will soon be number 1

Football is fun to watch for the best uniform. Cricket is fun to watch as the bowlers spit on the ball and throw it at the opposite batsman or rubs the ball on his own balls to show disrespect to the batsman.

pakistan - its an islamic country and sport which cause physical pain (rugby, wrestling) arent looked upon very well.
india- i dont know why.
sri lanka- they have no other sport
west indies- i dont know why
australia- i guess cuz theyve won the world cup so many times
they play football (soccer) but their ranking isnt that
good.
