If he can have an orgasm on his own then he probably has a psychological problem and needs pofessional help. Heres a tip...STOP trying to have sex with him. Cuddle and kiss but don't go any further. Set yourself a time limit, 4 weeks is about right and make an agreement that you will not have sex before then. If you keep that agreement then the chances are high that he does need help (most people get carried away and give in after 2 - 3 weeks!).

Ha ve you tried talking to him and asking what he likes in terms of foreplay ?? Can he masturbate to orgasm ??
If he can climax while masturbating then these is nothing physical wrong , if he can't then he must seek medical advice from his GP.
If he is physically able to climax whist masturbating it is a mental thing , and the longer this has gone on the more difficult it has become . If you both really love each other it is down to reassurance and seeking some help again at your medical practise .
Perhaps you are not in a comfortable and secure environment whilst being intimate ?? so going away for a weekend somewhere quiet may help .
All it takes really is one success for him to gain confidence
I hope you can both sort this out and move on

There are three possibilities that come to mind. One is that he has a serious medical condition that causes sexual problems such as diabetes. Two is that he is taking some sort of medication, like an anti-depressant, that causes sexual side effects. You could eliminate these as causes by asking him if he has any long-term diseases or what medications he's taking.

The third possibility is that he has an atypical masturbatory style, such as Traumatic Masturbatory Syndrome (TMS). TMS is masturbating in the prone position. This makes most men unable to have intercourse successfully. You can learn more about TMS at http://www.healthystrokes.com. It will probably be hard for you to do, but you should ask him how he masturbates. After three months and being sexually active with him, you ought to be comfortable enough with him to talk about this. If you find out he masturbates atypically, you can help him overcome it and learn to masturbate normally, after which your sex life will get a lot better.

Love making is all in the mind. Just from the begining of it to it's climax. Kissing, name it.
So the best thing to do is to go back to his background, coz I have noticed the time you known him is queit short. Advise Him to see a doctor.

i had a bf who hardly ever orgasmed when we where togethor, and he turned out to be gay, so that is def a possibility. but there are alot of medical reasons why he may be having problems, mental or physical. he should get some tests done.

It's stress.
The solution may sound a little offensive but I swear it works!
He needs to have sex with someone else and successfully achieve an orgasm. That way, he can get over his anxiety and relax. IF he still cannot have an orgasm even with someone else. then he must see a doctor, it is ED.

Is he taking SSRI antidepressants? These drugs can cause anorgasmia(inability to achieve orgasm) They can also reduce sexual desire considerably.
