I prefer the songs they made in the 70's as opposed to after the 70's. What they made after this time is not half as good as they're earlier work. I especially like Start Me Up & Brown Sugar.

Mick and The Boys enjoyed a 'holiday' during the latter 1970's....only to resurface in 1980 with their new break-out album "Tattoo You"--and instinctively clung tight to that 'formula' that spelled out SUCCESS, PROFIT and most importantly....LONGEVITY to The Rolling Stones.
I personally frowned on their alluding to their Steel Wheels tour being the "farewell" one--something we now know wasn't the case.
The Stones have an impressive discography that gained and continues to gain diehard fans. I find it interesting how there are scores of 20 something year old fans embracing the classic Stones songs--a clear sign that today's music just doesn't have what it takes.

I prefer the original Stones music as I remember it from my youth but a friend has been to all their recent UK concerts and she reckons they are as great as ever.
