When Shirin Fozdar set forth and founded SCW with Mrs. George Lee and Friends, the conditions of Women were very different in Singapore.
Now a lot has changed. However the women's charter serves as a constant reminder of what we will become if rights of certain segments of population are not protected.
Also, there is a large underclass in Singapore who remain ignorant about the concept of equality between men and women, and the charter was always meant to be the backboard to protect the families of these people.

Women must be given the same rights and privileges with men particularly in politics and job opportunities.
