I tried growing grass with milk but it just won't work, does anyone know why?

It is to basic. Meaning the pH of milk is too high.

for the same reason you could not grow a calf up with Miracle Grow.... their needs cannot be met with what you're giving them.... plants can't use milk fat and calves can't use Nitrogen....after the water is gone, there's little left that can be used by either the animal or the plant..... the plant can use photosynthesis to produce food, but the other chemicals and minerals that are needed for growth and development are not in milk, and I assume, not in the soil the plant is in..... so it cannot continue..... plus, all that milk fat in the area of the roots could possibly be coating the fine roots and making the uptake of water impossible, too....

I don't KNOW any of this as fact, but this is how I would 'logic' it out....

Interesting question.

Milk is over 80% water... It has calcium which they do need too.
But I think it could be mostly because of the acidity. Grass likes it more alkaline

why would you? milk is not a nutrient for grass to grow in
