Its because Bush administration wants to divert attention off his failing surge plan, and all the other scandals hes facing right now (TILLMAN executive priviledge -- oh my gosh on that one).
If he keeps the fear mongering tactics alive, then people link that to why we need to stay fighting in IRAQ, when anyone who knows anything about the situation knows that IRAQ al queda is different than centralized al queda whos in Afganistan and pakistan right now.

I take it you're in the intel business because you have credible evidence that these terror alerts are 'unsubstantiated'? Please cite your sources!

We know that you libs look at failed or thwarted plots as non-threats and non-events. Must be nice to live in that protective little bubble you're in...........while our military is protecting your sorry behinds.

Until your 'utopian' kill 'em with kindness world shows some progress, any and every threat needs to be taken seriously.

because if we aren't bombarded now--even if the information they have is not major--and a terrorist attack was to happen, bush would take the heat for not warning us.

Using what's worked in the past!

Tell them to be afraid and they will!

Bush is mad cause we aren't rallying anymore!

Remember ..."Fool me once shame on ..shame on..you......Fool me twice......I won't be fooled again!"
