Video card is what displays video on your monitor. Capture card you can plug in like a camcorder vcr or anything that u ses RCA to store as a video file on your comp. TV tuner card, is used to watch tv on your comp. it has a coaxial connector on the back so you'll plug the cable straight from the wall to your comp. If i were you i would look at the ati all in wonders. They are all three in one.

Video Card With Tv Tuner

Those cards are really just interchangeable except for the video card. Actually, some cards are listed as
TV Tuner/Video capture cards. I know. I have one that does both.

1) A TV tuner (capture) card means that it is setup to RECEIVE TV stations.

2) A Video capture card means that you should be able to plug various video lines into it to "capture" the video.

3) A video card actually runs your video output to your monitor. This is the different card from the other two.

If you get a TV tuner card, it usually comes with some sort of capturing software. Just understand that capturing either video or TV takes up a LOT a processing power (CPU Htz) and a LOT of HD space.

I don't know what the best cards are... sorry.

Just shop around. Find out what each one is capable of and what price they are. That's really all you can do anyway. Also, find a brand of card that you have heard good things about.

A video card simply supplies video from your computer to your monitor.

A TV tuner card allows you to hook your tv up to your PC and let's you watch TV on your PC. Some allow you to use your PC on your TV.

A capture card essentially turns your PC into a video recorder. This is the one you want.

Here is a list comparing various capture cards:
