I'm not depressed, I'm confused. See, I have rejected the idea of universal truth because there's so many beliefs out there, how can any of them be 100% right? Also I have decided to stop worrying about trying to save the world because it only stresses me out. So with that in mind, what's the point of life

well... you can imagine the world like a stage and be sure all of us have a role. Maybe you can't change the world by yourself but if everybody think like this then it's gonna get worse. Help yourself and then people around you. There are not many people like you but once we get more than evil and selfish people then we'll be able to get the leading part to change this world completly...
Remember your role and do your best brother ;-)!

You've rejected the idea of universal truth for faulty reasons. Suppose I gave a lot of people a long exceedingly difficult mathematical equation to solve. There would be many different answers but you couldn't logically say no one had the right answer. In addition, some wrong answers would be closer to the truth than others.

Start with a simple truth: There is a God and I am not Him.

If there is no God, life has no point. People will say that their life has no point, but they can't live a pointless life. If we dwell on the pointlessness of our lives, it will drive us insane or to suicide.

So if you insist on rejecting God, here are some tricks you can play on your own mind to keep sane:

1) Pretend there is a purpose for your life, e.g. "leave the world a better place than you found it"
2) Busy yourself with every sort of activity so you won't think about your pointless life, e.g. sports, TV, hobbies, etc.
3) Focus on the tiny bits of good feelings that we all get everyday, e.g. the good food at some restaurant.

OR, seek God.

there is no point. purpose would imply that events that have not happened, somehow inpact those that have. purpose, (or point) is an idea created by life, and therefor can only truely define that which we create. anything beyond or above us, we can only hope to understand. life has built itself up, over the ages like a tree. the only reason its so tall is because the dead branches fall. think of the way the old cars on the road, are usually the best built, the oldest buildings the ones with the strongest foundation. that is evolution, were circumstance. dont question the life you have, dont assign it meaning, simply value it. it was a one in a trillion chance that life would be here yes, but theres more than a trillion other places its not. anthropic principle, we only ask "why are we here" because we are here, had it been any different, we wouldnt be here to realize it

I think that the point of life is to make the world a little better than it was when you came into it. That may mean helping someone who needs it, helping a child learn so that they can continue their education so that they can better their lives. Help a homeless family to better their lives so that their children might have a better life. Work at a hospice to help some one die with dignity and respect. Help at a nursing home so that someone who might have no family has something to look forward to. Become a scout leader, tutor, mentor of young people. Work in a drug prevention program and help keep someone from addiction. Work in a jail to help some one who's made one or two minor mistakes have a chance of turning their life around.
There are a millions ways that you can make your life count for something. Which in turn will give you the meaning of life.

So you've decided that there is no absolute truth. Except for the absolute truth that there is no absolute truth, I assume?

Nobody can answer this question for you - you have to figure it out for yourself. Maybe that's what the meaning of life is - spending your life trying to figure out the meaning of it all.

Interesting. Just do what YOU like to do, not what others expect or want(as in interests and passtimes). I think thats a rule everyone needs in life. The rest is up to you.

You just do your thing, leave the big things to the universe or whatever.

oh.....we all get that feeling....you know i enjoy being around different people from different cultures..because its fun to learn how they do certain things which many are different from mines...but wats hard to realize is that we dont get all along...and we probably never will...point in life is takin all that we got and showing it to others who will enjoy it too....we live for others to see our work and we live to watch them enjoy it...as we ourselve will enjoy the work of others....if you enjoy food...thats a point in life....yes there are so many beliefs out there but you have to see that everyone perceives things differently and that its hard to change one's beliefs because it makes them feel safe and right....and when something makes you feel right you abide by it....point of life is to accept that and treasure what you can actually share with others..even though everything is not seen eye to eye.....point in life is to make yourself happy and know the real treasures of living....

Perhaps the point of life is the discovery of the point of life. The answer you find doesn't matter, but the process of discovering the answer does.
