It depends a lot on who the girl is and my feelings towards her.
1) If she has feelings for me but I know there can't be anything then I'd feel awkward.
2) If however there's the slightest possibility of a FIRE SPARKLE (you're writing poems so you understood me) then I'll like it and even respond to it.
3) If the girl is just a friend (interesting... just a friend...) then I'd... I'd... Sorry, that scenario hasn't happened yet.

Answer to question: No, that took time and effort. As a mother, I would MUCH rather have something you took the time to make/write yourself. My son (who is 22) made me a card from a sheet of notebook paper and crayons. I loved it better than the card he bought last year!

A note makes me happy. A poem and or card makes me think you expect something in return and are doing it only for that reason.
