well that would depend on how severly your ankle is sprained it could take anywhere from a few day to a couple of months to fully heal... as for your second question you will be able to begin exercising again as soon as you are able to bearweight on your ankle with out pain.... in the future you may want to wear an ankle brace that you can get from any drug store while workingout or playing sports to help prevent future injuries

As a softball player I'm all to familiar with sprained ankles. Thru high school alone I probably sprained my ankles 5 or 6 times. For me it took about 2-3 weeks before I was back to 100% but then again it all depends on the severity of the sprain. A mild sprain could take as little as a week, or bad one could sideline you anywhere for a month to a month and a half, I've seen it happen to teammate all to much.

Sprained ankles are a pain aren't they? Try having two sprained ankles and one broken foot!

They do restrict alot. As you will find it hurts. To be honest it doesn't take long at all really to heal. From 3-4 days at the most. And it's only in the first two days it feels painful or just not right.

Don't worry. Trust me, it could be worse! :D

it takes about 2-3 weeks depending on severity and what you do with it, you can exercise but take it easy at first, because your ankle will be weak. to prevent future sprains, wrap your ankle or wear an ankle brace
