I'm afraid you're out of luck. All Brazil banknotes issued before the current Real - denominated notes issued in 1994 have been demonetized and are no longer redeemable.

Try your closest international airport. Banks will change currency as well but their rates are usually not that great. I am unfamiliar with Brazil's change of currency. I certainly hope that the money still has value.
