Better leave it unplugged if you don't know where to start. It sounds like it's shorting out in the coil area. You can take it all apart and see if it can be fixed, more then likely but, if your not handy, try and swap it with a new one.
A appliance dealer around your area might see it as fixable and give you a deal.

The motor/heat relay is hanging up. The only way to fix it is to
replace the motor, except if it is a Kenmore/Whirlpool 29",
in which case, it will have a relay located in the control panel.
There are two of them and the one on the left would be the culprit. You can use it like it is, if you are carefull to unplujg it
when you are finished.

Sounds like your heater element shorted out.
You can have it repaired or get another dryer. By all means, leave it unplugged, it is currently a huge fire risk.
I had a repair man tell me once that it is just better to get a new one.
Hope this helps!

sounds like the heating element did burn out or is burning out as well if the drum don't turn is not move air there for over heating the element check the drum belt if that ok there should be a small button on the front of the dryer where the door opens if you press that switch and flick it on you can watch the drum turn but if its the element is gone than replace it
