Yes, but the Bridge of Sin collapsed and dropped me into the River of Sorrow, which eventually dumped me into the Sea of Despair.
Fortunately, I had a life-jacket!

I tried, but sin is a very unstable material with which to build structures. There's just no precedent for building something out of abstract concepts.

I was laughed out of the bridge building industry....

The flaw in your analogy is that according to many Christians, your "loving God" will send people who do not believe he exists to hell. That would be like the rich father in your analogy abandoning the boy's mother while she was pregnant and never making any attempt to contact the boy directly; at most, he leaves cryptic messages with random strangers who try to convince the boy that his father loves him, but lack any sort of contact information or way of verifying that the stranger had ever even spoken with the boy's father. Then if the boy complained about not having a car, despite the fund his father had set aside to get him one, the boy's complaints would make perfect sense, because he has no reason to trust that such a fund actually exists. In order to make the analogy truly perfect, the father would also have to be the director of the city's Department of Transportation, and have the power to establish a first-class public transportation system, but choose not to do so, forcing people (including his son) to be dependent on cars to get around reliably. If someone is genuinely convinced that this "generous offer" you describe is not real, they can hardly be blamed for not taking advantage of it. Any God who would sent a person to a realm of eternal torture for making a sincere error in what they believed was real would be a monster.

you know I never tried a bridge, I was just happy with my Hotel of Hate that over looks my River of Sin.. I guess I could make a bridge.... but who ever will I name it after?

Yes I have. And over the years it has needed much repair. And just when I thought it would completely collapse, someone would come along and help me mend it. And as a matter of fact, it's been looking a bit weak to me lately.

..............but hold on a minute..........I do believe that I see the outline of another carpenter -- way over there in the distance -- heading my way.

I don't think I've ever build a Bridge.

I don't know how I'd even go about that, honestly.

:)
