First off you'll never know what the next day holds in weather. Especially in fall and early winter. Tuesday can be 38 degrees and rainy, and Wednesday can be 75 degrees

-August usually humid and very hot
-September same as August maybe hotter
-October cools down a bit, not a lot though
-November you really can't tell, last Thanksgiving was 83 degrees, but the one from the previous year was 41 degrees.
-December mild to cool upper 50's mid 60's
-January most of the time cool to cold 40's to 50's
-February probably the coldest of the year a few years ago the lows hit the teens.

***South Texas weather is unpredictable, so pack a variety of everything*** Some sweaters, and jackets, and some summer clothes.

I am originally from that area. The summers are long and very sticky because of the high humidity. Generally the summer lasts till around late September, early October. You will need some winter clothes. It can get cold there- but not the wet kind of cold that chills you to the bone. Make sure you have a warm coat, good hat and gloves. Generally, you can walk out the door putting on your coat and will do fine, unlike back East where you need to be completely dressed in your winter clothes before going outside. It can get very cold there and the wind can get very sharp at times.
San Antonio is a very beautiful place with lots of rolling hills, and pretty good weather all year round when compared to other places.
Possibly you can log onto a web site and it will tell you about the average temperature there.
Good luck and enjoy.
Are you by any chance going into the Air Force?

August and September are hot, hot, hot. Sleeveless, but indoors a jacket or a sweater because businesses have a tendency to put on the AC really cold. Then, come about mid October we have our first "cool" front (it will hit around 60's during the day) these don't last. This continues back and forth from hot to cool until Christmas. Then, we start the wet season and get cold, for san antonio, Cold is 40's to 70's back and forth until March. In April it gets warm until May where it is hot through Oct. again. This has been an unusual year. Everyone has really needed the umbrella. It is not usually this wet, so pack an umbrella and a rain poncho.

Honestly - It totally sucks!! Its too hot here and no the heat doesnt stop in early October, it doesnt really go away till December. We have had plenty of warm Christmas's here in SA. How sad huh? The winter will only last about a month and a half to about two months max. And they arent even real winters! If that other person is referring to the ice storm last winter, that was a very isolated thing, very rare here in SAtown! Trust me, I was born and raised here in this hell hole for the last 32 years!! And exactly right here in the Lackland area! I envy you b/c I get the impression that you are military right? At least you get to see other places and probably get to experience real winters!! Well, good luck!

It normally doesn't get cold or even cool here until late Oct. or November. December through March tend to be around 30-60 degrees and might even be rainy. You might want to bring a light jacket and a heavier coat. What I do during the winter months is dress in layers.

August is still pretty hot but after October you may want some light winter clothing and a light duty jacket. Weather hear is very unpredictable so just bring a little of everything.

We moved from Minnesota to South Texas in 2001. We arrived here with 27 coats for 3 people. We've each probably worn one coat maybe 10 times each since 2001. Sweatshirts and jeans in the "winter" will see you through nicely. Tank tops, shorts, and sandals are a MUST!
