no, however there are many ways we can cause damage to nature but nature can never be conqured, look at the super volcanoes in the world. Even the eruption of a midsized volcano can cause devastation. Mount Punatubo had declined the Earth's temperatures for about 5-10 years because of the sun's inability to reach the earth's surface, hence clobal dimming.

There are other forces of nature we will not be able to conquer
Tsunamis, hurricans, tornadoes, earthquakes (we cannot even predict earthquakes) etc.

The short answer is no. Look at all the natural disasters around the world. Look at New Orleans how it was nearly washed away. The fact is that any type of natural disaster has the ability to cripple our society, and bigger ones can do far worse. To control nature would mean controlling these disasters as well as the ecosystems that are around us. these ecosystems have been around far longer than us and are much more complex than we will ever know. the only way we would CONTROL nature is if we were to DESTROY nature.

Humans are weak and helpless, but there a few who are good and strong and have the natural ability to survive. Man was meant to survive and today's society we fail at surviving.

Nature would kick our butts.
