I had the lawyer for an ex-employer tell me I was not allowed to see the sales reports they turn in each week to my local county government and that if I kept asking for them they would sue me. The government agency they report to said I was right and that these reports ARE in the public domain and I may view them.

This attorney was telling a lie. Can I do anything about this?

No.

You did what you were supposed to do. You didn't cow then and learned your rights. Unless he lies in court or a formal deposition, there's nothing you can do.

File a complaint with your state's bar association. Also, reports filed with any public agency are usually subject to open records laws. They can sue you if you are asking the business for the sales reports but nothing prevents you from going to the public office and getting a copy of what they filed.

Hey, learn the parable of the righteous lawyer ... ummmmm

Well - you need to at least know that if you run up against a lying, theiving, coniving, fraudulent lawyer or attorney - YOU CAN BE CERTAIN THAT THEY ARE CURRENT ON THEIR DUES AND PRESENT AT ALL CULTIC BAR MEETINGS.

The lawyer or attorney that appears to be a wonderful grand daddy or granny - they may be the ones that could be sacrificed by the goddess with the blindfold and lop sided scales/ uneven weights and measures ... and these ones may be the ones not current with dues.

Why?

Because - the Supreme Court of your State - put the BAR in charge of administrating penalties out to IT'S OWN MEMBERS ... (no CONFLICT OF INTEREST THERE, EH? wink; wink)

No checks and balances ...

The most important job of the Bar is to evaluate which one of their NON-CURRENT MEMBERS can be thrown to the lions ... so that the public may have the affect/effect of grand delusions - THAT THERE IS JUSTICE OUT THERE IN THE INJUSTICE SYSTEM...

The real jerks are always current ... ; here is an example in the event you still are not sure what I am saying ...

Say you own an appartment complex - you got a guy that always pays his rent - though he is a real jerk - the money is always current and sometimes paid in advance TO YOU ...

Then you got this granny or grand daddy that is just a wonderful kind of person ... but; they are 4 months behind on rent.

Well - all the tenants know granny or grand daddy - nicest guy on the block and he can't seem to keep it to himself in his or her charming conversations at the laundry mat and such - that he or she is so grateful for such a caring appartment complex that has allowed them to remain living there being behind 4 months in rent ...

Well - all the apartments are full - and a 8 people need an appartment right away - and are willing to come up with the deposit and such ...

Who will be the one put out? The jerk that always pays and even sometimes in advance - but is complained of by everyone ... or is it granny or grand daddy that every one loves - but is behind 4 months in rent???

A lawyer that is current on his dues will not answer to any charges - the BAR has letters all made out to answer your questions and they just type in the info of the attorney or lawyer you complained of so it looks like they put some thought into it ...

But - when you get that letter saying the lawyer or attorney did not do any wrong - you can show prima facie evidence that they committed Fraud and even admitted to it in a news paper - totally against the rules of professional conduct and morals set forth by the Bar and must be upheld for licensing ... they will say there is no evidence of it ... and tell you to go to the Supreme Court if you desire to ...but;

Remember The Supreme Court turned over control for the Bar to control themselves ... the Supreme Court don't want to mess with it so they have a canned letter they plug the Bar's info into and send it to you telling how they reviewed everything and they had to agree with the BAR ... and it's cultic members that are of the same cult as the judge that dresses like his mamma ... the blind folded goddess who reigns over the BAR as well.

Hope this helps you see how the injustice system works with pristine precission ...

Best you can do - is bill him NON-JUDICIALLY AND PRE-JUDICIALLY ... you can read how to do the Notarial Protests and such by looking at my old answers if you really want to make some money and show the liar how "We the People" can deal with those who are more privelaged than we are ...

Peace;

Is it going to benefit you by seeing the reports? If so, if they are public records then you do not have to go through your ex-employer to see them, goto your county comissioner and ask who receives them.

You could get copies of what you wanted, and rub his face in them by faxing them to him. That alone would be fun. If he wants to sue you for possession of public records, that could be even more fun.
